Publication Day – The Magic Sphere is out!

If you’ve scrolled down through my Home page, you have most likely come across the fact that I was writing a book. Previously, there had been a “coming soon” sign at the bottom. Well, that’s changed… because my book is finally published!

I am so excited to present you all with my newest book, The Magic Sphere! I began writing The Magic Sphere while living in Croatia two years ago, and it’s amazing to see how far it has come.

It was just another regular day in nine-year-old Chloe Teem’s town of Terast. Not one thing was out of the ordinary… Until the clock struck five past twelve.
In just the blink of an eye, the once bustling town of Terast turned eerily silent. Nobody moved. Nobody talked. Nobody blinked. Everyone was frozen. Except Chloe.
Join Chloe and two friends on a magical adventure as they attempt to unravel the mystery behind their unusual dilemma—and fix it before it’s too late.

Right now The Magic Sphere is available in eBook form, and pre-orders are being taken for the limited edition paperback version, which can only be bought through my website. If you’re interested in purchasing either the eBook or a pre-order copy of the limited edition paperback, you can do so here.

I’d like to give a big thank you to my team: Saeah Lee Wood, for managing this project; Elizabeth Evey, for all of the beautiful illustrations; Amy Reed, for editing my manuscript; and the rest of the Otterpine team. You all played a part in getting my book from a manuscript to where it is now. Thank you. I am also very grateful to my whole family for their continual support with my writing.

There is such a great feeling that comes with publishing a book (if you’re an author, then you know what I mean). The feeling of excitement, joy, satisfaction, and accomplishment – all in one bite! Publication day is a big day for every author, but it’s an especially big day for me. I proved to myself that I could publish a book – even if I’m not yet an adult.

I first became really interested in writing books when I was eleven years old; I had always loved writing, and always wrote to my heart’s content. I remember planning to write a book series about a group of kids who traveled the world. The first book in the series was supposed to be set in Egypt. At that time, I hadn’t ever been to Egypt, so I had much research to do to make my book as real as possible… little did I know that only a year later I’d be taking a 16-day trip to Egypt.

Up until then, I had thought that I’d wait until I was an adult to write my first book. That way, I would have gone through all the years of English lessons at school and would be a better writer as an adult than as a child. However, my urge to write something more than short stories grew so strong that I began to reason with myself, “Why wait until I’m an adult to write a book, when I have all the ideas right now?” Although I knew that I still had much to learn in the world of writing (and still do), I felt that my writing was good enough, and embarked on writing my first book. I didn’t want to stow away my thoughts for years to come. I wanted to write them all down.

And that’s how my love for writing books, instead of only short stories, began.

So… have I written another book?

Let’s just say I have a few ideas up my sleeve 🙂

Happy Reading!

Vivienne
