Welcome to my Blog!

Hello! My name is Vivienne Palin and I’m a world-traveler, children’s author, and a tenth grader.

I was born in Houston, Texas, but only lived there for the first two months of my life before moving to Alabama, where I lived for the next two years. After Alabama, I returned back to Houston and lived there until I was four years old. Since then, I’ve lived in Kazakhstan, France, South Korea, Singapore, Slovakia, Italy, and Croatia.

Now, my family and I are traveling around the USA in our RV. It can be tight, living with five other people in a 32 foot RV (with only one toilet!), but we’ve managed it since July of 2021. In fact, I’m writing this blog to you from my seat at the dinette table in my RV as we drive at 6,200 ft. of elevation through the snowy mountains of Utah on I-15 – I’m not joking, really!

Here are a few highlights from our RV trip so far:

  • Arches National Park
  • City of Rocks State Park
  • Death Valley National Park
  • White Sands National Park
  • Carlsbad Caverns National Park
  • Yosemite National Park
  • Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River
  • Blue Ridge Mountains
  • USS Lexington
  • Big Bend National Park
  • Vicksburg National Battlefield
  • Acadia National Park
  • Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
  • Mount Rushmore
  • Yellowstone National Park
  • and many more

At the end of this post, I’ve included a few photos from various places we visited (and a picture of my view out the window as we drive through Utah).

So, what are we doing in Utah? Well, to begin with, we’re driving south to avoid the cold weather. But at the moment, it feels like the more south we get, the more snow we find… although that’s because of the elevation. In the next few days, my family and I plan to visit Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks and a few other beautiful attractions in Utah.

So stay tuned if you’d like to hear about my adventures… and my upcoming children’s book!

Have a wonderful day,

Vivienne

Here are the pictures I mentioned:

Delicate Arch, Arches N.P.

Lost Mine Trail, Big Bend N.P.

Devils Tower National Monument

And last but not least, the snowy Interstate 15
